RGI's sole business is developing, integrating and maintaining geographic and business data for the general business and transportation industries. Our speciality is linking 'disparate' data bases into common data records required for today's sophisticated transportation applications ranging from simple order validation to satellite tracking of vehicles.

RGI also specializes in creating customized data files designed to support our customers' specific, geographically dependent applications.

RGI has developed and maintains custom geographic data files for many Fortune-500 companies. This business base uses GeoMaster data to "link" corporate systems to their transportation programs. GeoMaster's transportation customers include many large and small motor carriers and railroads. GeoMaster enables this customer group to integrate a wide variety of off-the-shelf and home-grown applications which have disparate databases and before GeoMaster, "couldn't talk to each other" in common business and geographic languages.

RGI, is also a data publisher. It's National Commercial Zone Directory is quickly becoming the industry's "bible" for commercial zone information used in both tariff, contract pricing and rating.

RGI was founded in 1990 by Jerry M. Ragsdell. Prior to RGI, Jerry was president of Rand McNally-TDM, a position he held for 10 years before leaving Rand McNally to start RGI.

Jerry developed the highly-used, industry standard MileMaker System, a product now owned and marketed by Rand McNally and the First Rate/RateMaker suite of freight rating software now owned and marketed by Cass Logistics Systems.

RGI is proud of its support of the major associations of its business group including the American Trucking Association, the Truckload Carriers Association, the National Industrial Transportation League, the American Moving and Storage Association and their various industry committees focusing on data standards.
